Rachel designs the BOTANIGEM collection with inspiration drawn from the botanical world, especially Australia’s native flora. She handcrafts each floral centrepiece in South Australia, often using plants she grows in her own garden.
To preserve their natural beauty, Rachel presses, air-dries, dries in silica gel, and tints the botanical components herself. She then sets them into elegant designs using 925 sterling silver or titanium-plated stainless steel — creating unique pieces that reflect the delicate harmony between nature and craftsmanship.

Tree of Life, A Day and A Night
I designed The Tree of Life – Day and Night using the native Australian Bursaria Spinosa, also known as the Christmas bush. I pressed, tinted, and rearranged the flower into a tree shape, then encased it in resin. I added hand-shaped mother-of-pearl leaves to bring a soft, elegant glow. The Day version captures the feeling of sunlight filtering through leaves, while the Night version evokes a quiet, luminous night.
These pieces helped win both awards and lay the foundations for what the BOTANIGEM collection is today.

Purple Haze
I handcrafted this piece in South Australia using vibrant Delphinium (Larkspur) petals and the richly scented native Australian Boronia Megastigma. I set the botanicals in resin to form a striking 50mm doughnut-shaped pendant, suspended on an 80cm black Chamude cord with a steel ball accent. This design captures the contrast between delicate nature and bold form, creating a truly unique statement piece.

Faith
I created the Faith earrings and necklace using dried ‘Bottle Brush’ native grass (Enneapogon nigricans), a plant found in the Australian landscape. I set the delicate grass into uniquely cut-out pendants, preserving their natural texture and flow. The earrings feature 925 sterling silver hooks and measure 25mm by 43mm, while the necklace pendant measures 40mm by 50mm and hangs from a 60cm sterling silver chain. I handcrafted both pieces in South Australia to reflect the quiet strength and grace of native flora.
